Popular social networking website Facebook has gotten caught up in the Mideast Conflict. How? When residents of settlements situated within Palestine entered their settement, Facebook listed them as living in “Palestine.”

Because of the uproar that this default designation caused, Facebook now allows residents of settlements the option of choosing either “Israel” or “Palestine” as their country.

The following statement is just enough to break your heart:

In a posting on a Facebook page used by settlers, Channah Lerman wrote: “Be aware! Should you restore the cities of Judea, Samaria (the West Bank) … people will get more enraged than they are already. Palestine is not a country.”
