Slate has an interesting article about members of different minority groups capability to become President of the United States of America – So When Will a Muslim Be President?
In the article, journalist Mark Oppenheimer runs through the chances women, Mormons, Muslims, Hindus, Jews, gays and lesbians, atheists, Hispanics, and East Asians. In terms of Muslims, Oppenheimer states that a secular Muslim probably has a better chance of becoming president, although if the candidate were too secular, then some Muslim organizations may not back him/her.
